An atypical Pinot Gris, Godfather has a structure and depth uncommon among the best Pinot Noir. Marek’s treatment of it is that of a chef. He takes from the vineyard multiple expressions to combine as his taste guides him. The results are confirmation of the effort that confounds those who actually pick the grapes. 3 harvests! The color is like fire, the fruit flavors are red, a quiet note of sandalwood. There is a sapid intensity to the wine; it is sweet and salty like spring water. An aperitif perhaps, but really the wine deserves to be at the center of the meal.
